Rozier My new lawnmower was used by God to help and touch other peoples' lives. Psalm 37 verse 23 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." On March 2, 2006, the time was right for me to buy a new lawnmower. I had been praying about this decision, and finally the Lord gave me the go ahead. My old lawnmower was still running, but had several thousand hours on it. It is a 22 horsepower, 50 inch cut, Yard Pro Garden tractor. I had mowed many acres of grass with this faithful machine. I went over to Lowe's and looked at their lawnmower/garden tractor display. The green John Deere looked nice; so did the red Troy Built one. However, my eyes were drawn to the orange Husqvarna 24 Horsepower 48 inch cut garden tractor. When I inquired about the price, the salesman said, "It is on sale and comes with a dump cart, too." This was the one the Lord wanted me to have, so I bought it, loaded it on my trailer and headed home. As I drove by the Dollar General store, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Go in there". I stopped, and went inside. There at the front was a brother in the Lord that I have not seen in quite a while. We had fellowship in the store, and I told him about my book I had written (My Walk with the Lord). He wanted to buy a copy, so we walked out to my truck, and I gave him a copy. He also commented on my new Husqvarna garden tractor. I went on home, pulled my trailer in the yard, and was doing some things under my barn when I heard a vehicle pull up. It was the man I had just talked to in the Dollar General store. His wife was with him. He said, "Both of us started reading your book, and were blessed. I came by to buy another copy. I didn't know exactly where you lived, but I saw that new orange lawnmower on your truck so I knew you lived here." We had some more fellowship, and then we joined hands and had prayer and the Lord's presence was so sweet. I needed a hitch built to attach to the rear of my new garden tractor, so I went over to a friend of mine who had built my last hitch. I pulled into his yard, and he was sitting at his outside table. I explained to him what I needed, and he said he just did not feel up to building it, but recommended someone else. I looked closely at him, and could tell that he didn't feel so good. I had previously talked to him about the Lord, and how short life can be, and how troubles can suddenly come our way. He asked what I was going to do with my old lawnmower, and I told him I might sell it, but wasn't in a big hurry to do so. When I left there, the Lord spoke to me, and said, "He is sick and does not have much longer on this earth. I will give you an opportunity to talk to him and to pray with him." Tears welled up in my eyes when I heard these words, I felt the Lord's compassion and love for this man. I went to the machine shop that was recommended by my friend, and told him what I needed. Later that evening, I went by to pick it up, and was talking with the owner and his wife. I knew the wife's family from years ago when my Daddy used to preach at our old home church. She had a brother who was killed in a wreck and I was a pallbearer on his funeral. I was in the sixth grade, and he was in the fifth. She also had another brother, a year older than me. We had worked together as teenagers helping a local farmer. He went off to Vietnam and over the years I had not seen too much of him. He came on my mind and heart strongly, and I was going to ask about him. This family held fond memories for me. Anyway, my hitch for my new garden tractor was finished, and I went on back home. Two weeks later, I attended this other brother's funeral. He was 55. I took my new lawnmower to my neighbor's and let him look at it. As we were talking, he told me some things and then asked me to pray for him and his daughter. I did. Around March 11th, I was outside by my barn, looked up, and saw a vehicle coming down the road. It was the man I first went to about building my hitch. He brought his son with him to look at my older lawnmower. We talked a bit while his son tried out the lawnmower. Afterwards, I looked at this man and said, "You don't look good, you need to go to the doctor". He said, "You are right. I probably do." Last Saturday, I was out mowing the pecan orchard on my Ford 3000, when my neighbor walked out there and waved me down. I stopped, and he said "Have you heard about____(the man the Lord told me was sick)"? I said "No, did he die"? My neighbor replied to me that he was in the hospital and had serious cancer, stomach and other places. I drove my tractor over to the barn, switched it off, washed off my hands, got in my truck and drove to the hospital. I went into his room and two of his sisters were there seeing about him. He had an operation to remove part of his colon, and I could tell he was in pain. His spirit was good, though. I visited some and then asked him if I could pray for him. He said yes. I took his hand, bowed my head, and asked the Lord to reveal himself and show this man his great love. Our eyes were wet as the Lord's presence overwhelmed that little hospital room. As I was leaving, one of his sisters came out and told me that unless the Lord performs a healing miracle, the doctor's had gave him three to six months to live. I know that the Lord's will have his way in this 50 year old man's life. So you see, the Lord gave me a new lawnmower but it has been used for his glory. I thank Him that he uses ordinary every day events to accomplish His divine purposes. The Desires of our Heart

Our God is incredibly amazing. With our words, we try to express our gratitude for all He's done but words are never adequate. He grants us the desires of our hearts. Many times we don't even realize they Are desires, because they've been supressed. My Sports Utility Vehicle died a few months ago and we were financially unable to purchase another vehicle. I was forced to walk anywhere I wanted to go and the truth is, I started getting used to it. I began living content with not having a car, and therefore made provisions for getting around, usually by taking my husband to work and then borrowing his vehicle (when I needed to go somewhere out of walking range). Today, just a few months later, I am driving a fully loaded luxury car. It's a used car, but it runs smooth and best of all (because of unusual circumstances), we were able to purchase it way below the market value. The final asking price was twenty five hundred dollars and it's a Lincoln Mercury Grand Marquis complete with all leather seats and all digital dashboard (power everything). I realize material possessions are temporary and can never replace the treasures we have in heaven, but it's awesome when God steps in and provides for us when He doesn't have to, and even when we haven't asked Him for it. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

How Does God See You? From the Christian Woman Daily "Encouragement" section

How does God see you? Does He like what He sees? Can I tell you He loves you 100% and loves everything about you? He loves all your annoying habits, He loves those extra pounds you have gained, and He loves you when you falter. Basically, He loves you. As a new creature in Christ when God looks at you He sees you as being redeemed. He sees the work Christ has completed on our behalf. He loves you even if you never change from this very day. This morning I was trying to start my quiet time. I had my notebooks and Bible out all ready to get started. I sensed God saying, “Put those down. Calm your mind down. You know what, Kimberly I love you. Just think about it for a minute.” I quickly was in tears. He truly loves me. I know we all "know" God loves us, but do you really know it. Do you live like He loves you? God thinks I'm beautiful! Whether the world thinks that or not! God likes my silly jokes, whether my kids like them or not. God thinks I'm cool even if the world says different. God sent his Son to die for me, how much more special can that be. Today, I ask you to truly dwell on the fact that God loves you. Soak in it, breathe it, and then live it. When God loves me I can conquer anything in his strength alone. I do best when I give it all to God and throw my hands up and say, "God it is yours I can't do it anymore." It is a shame I don't do that first, but I'm learning and you know what God loves me in spite of myself. © 2004 Kimberly Chastain About the Author Kimberly Chastain, MS, LMFT is the Christian Working Mom Coach and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. God's Supernatural Miracle of Healing Infertility

In 2002, while taking a break at work, I found myself in the middle of a discussion about abortion. There were about five women joining in the discussion. A few of the ladies were pro-choice; the others (including myself) were pro-life. One of the women in particular (I won't use her real name, but I'll call her Nicole) was extremely pro-choice. Nicole voiced her opinion about pro-choice with fervency in attempts to convince everyone- abortion is a woman's right. She explained to everyone how women must have the right to choose what they do with their own bodies. I was about six months pregnant with my third daughter at the time, so of course, I disagreed with Nicole. I told her I thought abortion was wrong. Still, Nicole made the arguments about women who are raped or women who couldn't afford to take care of a child. I considered Nicole one of my closest friends, so I finally gave up and stopped arguing with her. I was surprised to hear her views on abortion though. Three months later, when it was time for my baby to be born, there was a tragic accident. My baby was entangled in the umbilical cord and delivered as a stillborn. A few days later, we had her funeral at my church. Several people attended the funeral including a police chaplain, three pastors, teachers from my other daughters’ school, many old friends, relatives, and several people from work. I think Nicole had to work that day, because she wasn't there. Returning to work about a month later, (I took off work about a month to recover from the loss) I saw Nicole again. At break time, Nicole and I went outside (even though it was cold and rainy) to "talk". I relived the events of my baby's death for her by explaining the details. When Nicole heard the story of my heartbreak, she opened up with tears, and confessed she once had an abortion when she was seventeen years old. When I asked why, she said, "When my mother found out I was pregnant, she said -Nicole, You Are Not Going To Keep That Baby". Because Nicole was living with her mother at the time, she submitted to her mother and went to a clinic to have the abortion. Nicole then told me doctors had advised her since her abortion, she would never be able to have another child. The abortion had permanently damaged her body. Nicole was now twenty-seven years old and wanted a child, but knew in her heart it was impossible. I tried to encourage her, prayed for her and advised her to seek God. About three months later, upon arrival to work, I noticed Nicole wasn't there. I asked some of the women if they knew where she was. To my astonishment, the women (who were noticeably excited) informed me Nicole had called into work. They said she had just found out she was pregnant. They also said she was rejoicing and giving praises to God, but at the same time experiencing some morning sickness. Overjoyed, I remembered Nicole pouring her heart out to me that cold day during her confession. I believe God heard her confession that day, gave her forgiveness and healed her body all at the same time. When the due date arrived, Nicole gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Nicole's story reminds me of the scripture from 1 John 1:8-9 that says, "If we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." by Renae Patterson

Roe vs Wade for Men? A woman's viewpoint

On March 9, 2006 The National Center For Men filed suit in a United States district court in Michigan on behalf of a man's right to make reproductive choice. In essence, to opt out of fatherhood in the event of an unintended pregnancy. They're calling it Roe vs Wade for Men. Before they go any further with this, they need to think long and hard about the future consequences. Think about this for a minute.. Our nation, full of fatherless children (because their fathers had opted out). It's a proven fact that most of the criminals we have locked up in prisons right now, grew up fatherless. Do we really want a society crawling with bitter, angry, young people with no direction? I know I don't want my children to have to deal with their bitterness. Why doesn't the child have a voice? Everyone talks about the rights of the mother and now the rights of the father, but what does the child have to say about it? What if the child would say "Look, I want to keep both of my parents and I want them to keep me. I will be a blessing, not a burden. I need direction and love. Please don't opt out of raising me, your only doing this for selfish reasons." Let's hope the father doesn't need an organ or bone marrow or some kind of medical help someday (that only his child could give). The child might just decide to opt out. In closing, I thank God for my father. If it hadn't been for him, I would have been orphaned at age two when my mother passed away. If you're a father and paying child support today, count yourself blessed. Someday your good deeds will pay off, and you will be rewarded for every unselfish sacrifice you've made. Roe vs Wade for men? Don't even consider it guys, your children will look up to you and praise your name when they're grown up. Formed from the Dust of the Earth?

Formed From the Dust of the Earth? By Renae Patterson Scripture reference: (Gen. 2:7 [7] The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.) God formed man from the dust of the earth? Should we believe this statement literally or was the author of Genesis speaking figuratively? I never really questioned the statement, but I suppose since it’s in the Bible, someone has questioned it at one time. I personally believe this statement to be a literal fact, one that God proved to my husband and I, in a personal and yet powerful demonstration. On October 25, 2002 (The day my stillborn daughter was born), my husband Gary followed a nurse as she carried the baby to an infant crib. They proceeded to give her a sponge bath (this happened about five minutes after her birth). Once the baby was clean, they dressed her in a diaper, and the burial clothes I had picked out for her to wear to her funeral. The nurse then wrapped her up in some blankets and walked toward me holding the baby. She asked me if I wanted to see and hold her. Reluctant at first (because I knew she had already passed away and I didn’t know what to expect of her appearance), I agreed to go ahead and hold her. As the nurse placed the baby in my arms, my first response was one of relief. The baby was beautiful in my eyes. Her face fully formed with two eyes, a nose and mouth( everything normal). She appeared to be sleeping with her eyes closed, and a look of peace covered her entire body. As I lied in the hospital bed studying the newborn’s face, Gary walked over to me and whispered, “Did you smell her?” “No,” I answered. Puzzled he would ask such a question at this time. As I bent over to give her a kiss on the cheek, an unbelievably potent scent coming from her body, consumed the air between us. I was shocked and inspired by the smell of her body. The smell of her body was that of freshly tilled soil from the earth. If you have ever been on a farm or in someone’s yard when they are tilling the land for their crops, then you should have a good idea of the scent I am referring. As I pondered what I was experiencing, I couldn’t help but remember the words in Genesis how it says that God formed man from the dust of the earth. My conclusion: Everyone is made in the image of God, but if we don’t have the breath of God passing through our bodies, we are just dirt. I also believe we can safely trust Him to be speaking the truth with every single word that proceeds from His mouth.
