Actually you can do daytrips from Gran Canaria to Marocco with a private company called Top Fly and Sahara Fly. They fly you from Gran Canaria to the Sahara desert, south in Marocco. The plane leaves early in the morning and returns late at night.
You could also go on a daytrip to Gambia! The flight is 2,5 hours each way, whereas to Marocco its only 50 minutes flight each way.

A daytrip could be difficult, but two or three days is possible.
Binter Canarias flies from Gran Canaria to El Aaiún (south Marocco) every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight takes 45 minutes.
They also fly from Gran Canaria to Marrakech on Thursdays and Sundays. This flight takes 2 hours.

I wonder if someone would be able to answer a few queries that I have?
My boyfriend and I are looking at moving to Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria on a long term basis in the near future. What a shame - this used to be a great little place for some tapas or seafood. Now it has moved a few metres up the street and a million miles from its former glory.
I had a horrible meal there last week, I sent the stewing steak being past off as fillet steak back to the kitchen and got insulted by the huge German woman who ownes the place. Hi,
We have a bungalow to rent in Maspalomas close to the golf course. The bungalow is fully furnished and located in a quiet complex just a 5 minute stroll to the Faro 2 shopping centre. We are looking to rent it on a long term basis only (min 6 months) for 590 euros a month including all bills.
