Many a time we spent hours or days creating projects with polymer clay and was really disappointed to find
that cracks appears on your baked clay project. There are many factors to the above problem, but mostly, the
cause is moistures that trapped in the clay, during the process of baking it turns into steam and expands outward.

Garie's fascination with miniatures inspired him to create the world's smallest teddy bear. The bears measure between 2.0mm - 5.0mm in size, are all handmade and blended with different type of polymer clays. The blending of different clays prevents the tiny pinch ofpolymer from melting on the finger and going out of shape while creating the tiny bear. The bigger 5.0mm bear has moving head, arms and legs. The bears are all made without the use of a magnifying glass.Because each of Garie's creations is made by hand -- no two are exactly alike.
As from todate, the teddy bears are even smaller just 1.0mm able to sit upright . Beside the 1.0mm teddy bear Garie had also created the world's smallest teddy bear with moving head, arms and legs.

<img src="http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh214/Aprilee_photos/Bracelet001.jpg" border="0" alt="PhotobuckePhotobuckett"> I used pearl clay & mixed in ditterent colors of acrylic paint. My finger-tips are sliced-up from the tissue blades (how do you avoid that?). And, no, It's not perfect, but I think it's beautiful! The best part, were the many things I learned while doing this project. My next project will be much better, thanks to lessons learned from this one! That is why this one took so long, I'm learning as I go & am ready to buy some colored-clay now!

I have been planning to expand my jewelry art to Poly-Clay for some time. I purchased three good books on the process. Each book cautions that you should NEVER bake clay in any oven that you will be preparing food in!! They say that, when baking, the clay releases a small amount of toxic gasses & that continually baking clay & food is ill-advised! I'm new and not trying to be a "know it all", but I am concerned for everyone's health! I got a toaster oven for $18.00 at Walmart! (and it wasn't even on sale!). Very Happy
