Well I talked the wife to a short trip for the Holiday. We are heading up to Tunica MS. so talking her into this trip wasn't hard being she like the casinos. Therefore it was a no brainer
I ve used the hitch for 12 years.Always oil and cleaned hitch never any trouble.3 5th wheels later,i drop our new high end .5th wheel on the road. Why Why? I am new at this, did you guess Ha ha. :(
WOW, did ya'll see the 2008 27FB Airstream listed in the for sale ads that listed for 86,270 but wanted you to call for the special sale price.
Have not heard very many talk about this one......I have done it for several years now and it works for me...
Just before you go to the RV dump..buy 10 lbs of cubed ice...it comes in a big plastic bag. break it up and dump it into the toilet with the flush valve open......then drive to the dump.....might want to take a little side trip around the block...I usually try to make several turns. The ice cubes (having sharp edges) will scrape the "crap" off of the inside of the tank and it will all go down the drain as slick as 1.2.3...... What do you think of that.
I have bought a 93 gulfstream camper but I cannot clean the black streaks from it. I have tried the black streak remover,,, did not work for me. Are there any tricks to this.
Thanks,
mike
Hello. I am a newbie to RVing and a newbie to this forum.
I have a 1998 35' Georgie Boy Class A motorhome. My questionis in regard to the Roof AC units when running the generator. I used to be able to run both AC units with the generator (certain as I ran both units on the generator all the way from Orlando to Atlanta this past summer) but now only the rear unit will run on the generator. When I plug the motorhome in at a campsite, both units power on and run fine. Is there a fuse somewhere or something I can check before taking it to the dealer?
Thanks....
Hey guys, I hope you can help me. From what I understand you RV'ers are the most experienced with trailering.
I am planning to get a weight distributing hitch for my horse trailer (yes, I know, it isn't an RV but please humor me:-)) and I am not totally sure exactly what I need.
I see where these hitches are sold at 600lbs, 800lbs, 1200lbs etc and I don't quite know exactly what this number means and I have been looking for days. Is this the tongue weight where the hitch starts to effectivly transer the excess tongue weight across the whole vehicle frame or the maximum weight that the hitch can transer to the frame? Obviously 600lbs spring bars must be stiffer than 1200lbs but I don't know what size I need.
Vehicle: 2006 Ford Explorer 4.6L V8 (capacity of 7,400lbs)
Hitch: WC 500lbs/5,000lbs WD 740lbs/7,400lbs
Trailer: empty weight 3,300lbs (TW of 500lbs assuming 15% on the tongue), gross weight of 7,000lbs
Any ideas about what stiffness bars to get and why you recommend it? Also, should I get round bars or trunion bars?
Thanks SOOOO much!!!
Joe
Leaving today for Harrisburg, Oregon. Figure to get past the Seattle area today rather than deal with the heavy traffic tomorrow morning. Dont know how long we will be in Oregon until tuesday afternoon after then have had my RV in the shop and started repairs. Ill keep ya's up to date.
Hi all, was just thinking about adding a room onto the awning of our TT and have tried to fiind a few on the net. Does anyone have any experience on buying one of these, location, cost, etc.??
We want it to be bug proof and wind/rain proof as much as possible. We currently have the sunscreen set-up and it is real nice but we would like to make it more like another room where we could roll down the covers for the windows/door.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and comments. ;) :)
