CLIVEDEN WINTER BEER FESTIVAL BEER TASTING & FUNDRAISER—SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2008 FEATURING SEASONAL and LIMITED-EDITION HOLIDAY CRAFT BEERS SHOWCASING 20+ BREWERIES and 50+ BEERS The CLIVEDEN WINTER BEER FESTIVAL is a craft beer tasting and fundraising event unlike any other. The event will showcase a special selection of seasonal and limited-edition holiday craft beers from the nation’s top craft breweries. Taking advantage of the ambiance and historic significance of the Cliveden setting, attendees will be able to sample the special beers as well as learn about historic brewing techniques and take tours of Cliveden—one of America’s most historic colonial homes. The Festival will take place on Cliveden’s historic and picturesque grounds—the scene of the 1777 Revolutionary Battle of Germantown. The event will help raise funds for the preservation and community revitalization work of Cliveden and will support Cliveden’s education and community programs. Cliveden is located at 6401 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144. Attendees receive a 6 oz. souvenir tasting glass with a two-ounce pour line and are welcome to sample any beer being poured by the brewers. Designated drivers do not receive a tasting glass. Nothing 'usual' about this brewfest! 20 Washington breweries, 10 downtown venues, in the middle of winter! Some of the venues are a little unorthodox, from furniture stores, a sporting goods shop, to the local newspaper office. Tickets go on sale December 1, 2008 (tickets are limited).
Beer, wine, and food tasting event as a fundraiser for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games. The games will be hosted by the Spokane VA Medical Center in July of 2009. Various wineries, breweries, and eating establishments will present their products. All procedes go to food, event venues, transportation, etc. for the 600+ wheel chair veterans who will arrive from all over the world to compete in several of the 17 sports events.
