A series of five posters on "Amazing African American Leaders of Arkansas" has been developed by the Special Collections Department of the University of Arkansas Libraries. The posters feature photos and biographical sketches and were designed to be used by junior high school teachers of Arkansas history.

For the fifth consecutive year, the University of Arkansas has been named as the state's only public institution in the 10 th annual "America's 100 Best College Buys." John Brown University, a private university in Siloam Springs, Ark., joins the U of A as the only other Arkansas institution included in the report.

Enrollment at the University of Arkansas maintained a consistent trend upward, setting another record with 17,821 students enrolled for the fall 2005 semester.
The University of Arkansas endowment holdings rose to $691,523,660 at the close of both the Campaign for the Twenty-First Century and the 2004-2005 fiscal year on June 30, 2005. The total is approximately 10 percent higher than the $626 million reported one year earlier.

Charles W. Oxford, who served the University of Arkansas for 62 years passed away Tuesday, Aug.16, 2005. Dr. Oxford held several administrative positions, including service as interim president of the University of Arkansas in 1974 and 1983.
