The Anonymous Bank is a large bank in the United States with nearly 3000 bank branches. The Private Client Services (PCS) division of the bank provides fully integrated financial services for high-net-worth and other affluent clients. Faced with diverse learning needs and a limited training budget, Private Client Services University (PCSU) - the training arm of PCS - decided that the travel associated with training was too expensive and time consuming for employees and that printing and sending materials for self-study were overly costly as well. PCS has been able to provide online courses to a geographically diverse student population through the SumTotal learning management system.
Over the past 18 years, M&T; Bank has rapidly increased its size and expanded into new geographic markets through 15 acquisition initiatives. Training these newly acquired bank employees on the M&T; Bank systems, products and procedures, while maintaining a curriculum of regular classes throughout the bank's footprint, was becoming an increasing challenge with a minimal training staff. The Learning Management System (LMS) proved to be perfect delivery vehicle to reach users spread throughout a four state footprint in the Mid Atlantic region. Using the SumTotal Enterprise Suite, M&T; quickly created a centralized portal accessible from employee desktops via the bank's Intranet, called "The Learning Center".
