SCARECROW ONE-SHOT ENDS SEAGULL BATTLE IN HASTINGS


Uckfield based Scarecrow Bio-acoustic Systems reports the successful dispersal of hundreds of aggressive and unhygienic seagulls from Hastings multi-storey car park in East Sussex. The entire top level, an area covering some 3900 square metres had been completely infested by the unwanted roosting seagulls. Not only were the birds violent when approached, the hazardous combination of bird guano, waste and feathers with which they filled the floor rendered the top level completely unusable by customers. So extreme and dangerous was the situation that security guards likened the experience to a scene out of Hitchcock’s thriller ‘The Birds’.
