[quote:8f326b35fa="rogerwilco"] Businesses often have important "intellectual property" that needs protection from competitors in order for the company to stay profitable. Because of the nature of intellectual property, a business needs protection in every jurisdiction in which they are concerned about competitors. businesses are subject to ongoing special regulation. A highly complex set of laws and regulations govern the offer and sale of investment securities (the means of raising money) in most Western countries. Local jurisdictions may also require special licenses and taxes just to operate a business without regard to the type of business involved. [quote:3e11b569f1="paul"]Given that these other sites are invariably overseas, realistically there's probably little that can be done unless you want to go to great expense in terms of hassle, time and cost... no? Hi is there anyone out there who is currently a courier??? Just wondering who you get your insurance from and is it fully comp wit GIT and PL too? Thanks SImon.
Usually depends how many employees you've got, but up to 5 and often you don't need to provide anything like as much stuff. The people who usually regulate this kind of thing are the HSE although you might also be able to get hold of the Fire Safety Officer who can give you some tips on what you need and even training for your employees. Best to contact the regional fire dept. HQ (number in the phone book). Overall I would say just make sure that everyone knows where the fire escapes are, where the extinguishers are, make sure they're checked annually and that it's everyones responsibility to make sure that there are clear routes to all escapes - that's the key really. Above a certain number you'll need to hold fire drills too, but if you're in an office complex then some of this comes down to the building management company, eg: fitting sprinklers and doing the fire drills.
After DMCA (or other copyright laws), whatever published on the web is automatically copyrighted. Even if you don't see "copyright", it's copyrighted. However, I often see pictures taken from other websites and modified used on many websites. I'm not saying that this is the way to get around; I'm simply saying that many people do this..
