Online software, blogging, tools but mostly social bookmarking
It's got nothing to do with social software, it's a bit heavy but it deserves a highlight: Sprint Sweets If you write 'Love' it adds a heart and if you write 'happy' it'll add a smiley :). If you look closely you'll notice that each letter are written by different poeple. Try typping the same letter several times, it won't be the same! (ex. there are two different kids to write dots.) Nice
Image from rarebeatles.com (Variations) ... after a month, from Japan. Well I hope so, you can never tell. N.B.: Sorry if my feed makes a “clunking sound”, before leaving I wanted to update some of my huge lists.
If you have blogger Beta, every minor edit to an old post will re-syndicate the hole post. ...is what I discovered, by accident: I have very heavy pages that I edit offten. Like, here, here and here. So untill I find a work around (or Blogger makes it an option), my feed will now only contain a short excerpts. -Sorry. hum... BTW, do you know of a work around?
WOW! This is good to know. Zamzar let's you convert many many many file formats online: Document Image Music and even Video Formats! from local upload, max. 100MB. Just as an example, so see the rang of possibilities, you can convert gvi (Google video) to: aac, avi, flv, gif, mov, mp3, mp4, mpg, ogg and wav! It's the one with most I've seen. Checkout the complete list of
Windows Live.com macro is a bit like Rollyo. You create them: This is the advanced search macro And share them: Search for them here. “Share your macro with others. You can e-mail or instant message the web address of any macro home page to a friend. You can also share your macro with other Windows Live users on the Windows Live Gallery. The Gallery community can then rate your macros and give
I first saw it at Chris Pillo's blog, but since it has it's own website everybodies talking about it: digg, Factory Joe, Quickonlinetips... OPMLIcons.com Chris Pillo's OPML icon proposal, there should be more coming: “We will be posting alternate designs that have been proposed shortly...” I knew Dave Winer at OPML.org have been searching for a: “beautiful icon that people will display with
There's a new button and bookmarklet at Ma.gnolia: 'ROOT', it shows you the bookmark web-page details, a bit like the del.icio.us comment aggregator or Simpy's Link history. It may take some time to show up depending on connection speed but the process is done though several steps... and for once, it's not an Ajax indicator and like everything at Mag.nolia, it looks nice. Have a try: (The
Feedshow, the online RSS feed reader, has one special feature I haven't noticed elsewhere, it uses an unique and constant OMPL file for each account, meaning the OPML URL you get when you export is dynamic! (You can't do this with Rojo, Bloglines, Newgater, MyFeedz nor NewsFarm I checked. ) Each time you subscribe/unsubscribe, it'll show on the OPML file. Though I'm not sure it automatically
I'm not going to list them, there's a big list here or at Wikipedia. This is about online color tools. Color Jack Studio is a nice complete drag and drop color shemer I just discovered at del.icio.us. As you can see it uses the Color Mind color picker. There's a function menu for getting the complementary, analogous, tetradic... colors. The shemes can be easy transferred and save as a
Not sure how this is better than the the Embedded Media HTML Generator but 'SEO Tools Online' now have a valid Flash xhtml generator, it's even called 'Flash XHTML validator'. I expect you can check by comparing the generated code and yours. Has anybody tried? Thumbshot by Bluga.net Webthumb By googleing 'validator+flash' I know I'm not the only one who's had problems validating Flash embedded
Just discovered thanks to a comment, a bookmarklet that adds thumbshots.org thumbnails to any link on any page: Link Preview by Globefeed.com (basically a Google maps mash-up service.) Before and after using the Link Preview bookmarklet. To always have thumbnails on some sites, I know it's possible using the Firefox Bettersearch extension for Google web and News search results, Greasmonkey
WebshotsPro (beta) have launched a new online tool to create and search web-page screenshots. (web-PAGE! not web-SITE like Alexa or other thumbshot tools.) This screenshot was created using WebshotsPro. WebshotsPro generates a 400x300 screenshot and a 100x75 thumbshot with it's URL to copy past by default. But the size of the screenshot is defined in the image URL and can be set to nearly any
This was spotted by MOMB and it's a 'to bookmark'. It's for when your boss sends you on a mission to China. ;) No, it's for any place that limits access, like some countries, companies, schools...The Palary Browser, an online browser, or if you prefer: a browser inside your browser, is like the Bitty Browser exempt it not there for the same reasons. It's secure, all https. If you sign in you get
I just discovered that Hubpages has one great feature that makes creating a list of links very quick. It's inside the link capsule (modules are called capsules), a small search engine that let's you add links from search results with just one click. You can search Google, Hubpages and del.icio.us. Editing the links is 'in page' and can be done while searching/adding the links. So Hubpages doesn't
Linkrss (Beta) “ A new free web service that lets you create, store and syndicate your own custom RSS feeds from anywhere.” Very simple with no extra nuisance, the item's editor looks like this: You can find some more builders and generators here. [via] Category: RSS Tags: RSS Online Editor Tools
This week I've been playing around with the new, closed, Talk Digger Alpha. It's not like I had thought, it's not Talk Digger with more tools on top, it's a complete rebuilt web application with social networking, a network connecting users by interests and represented visually. It's also become a powerful monitoring tool I would advise as professional use. The Network:In short, on one side there
There's Talk Digger, Talk Digger Alpha... and there's Talk Digger Beta! (Well the first one is also beta.) It's an other representation of Talk Digger results: You go to a webpage You like it and want to see what other people have to say about it Then you copy the URL, go to Talk Digger and search for it to see who is talking about it (you can easily do that whole process with
Update on my previous post about Socialmeter. SocialMeter's developer, Brian Holt, is clearly following what's said about his creation: “It would be great if there was an RSS feed available. I may try to create one using Dapper...” TechCrunch had said.Well, it now has a RSS generator (and a bookmarklet)! That was so quick, did he use Dapper? Socialmeter for feeds gets the overall social
Creamaid (beta) is a Flash discussion widget like many others, exempt that they point out it's capability of having discussions with other blogs. CREAM stands for “Customer Relationship Extension And Management” and it's for commercial blogs. If you want to chat from your blog with an other blog or website, I know some widgets support sharing, logically all of them should, all you need to do is
Is Go2Web2.0 new? Nice, you click on a logo a it shows you who's talking about it. There are so many I'm not sure if I've seen them before, many have domain names containg 'web2', like web2.reddit, web2list, web2.0slides. I knew there was one containing the word logo but I wasn't sure if it was singular or not, so I tried both: web2logo and web2logos, they both lead to web2.0 logos
Just received Diffbot tryout. It is a different bot. The developer Mike calls it a web-based RSS reader and bookmark manager, but I would rather call it a RSS and web page update reader. Are there any other RSS readers that can do that? Detect web page updates? To my knowledge it would require using something like WatchThatpage, ChangeNotes, ChangeDetection then export it to RSS with dodgeit,
Unlike Page Rank algorithm where they more or less rely on incoming links, Social Bookmarks at it's original purpose (not traffic or spam), simply mean that the page was appreciated. It dosen't have to be blogged and linked back (everybody doesn't blog). In this way, popularity check using Social Bookmarks are very truthful, it should be considered like Seomoz.org's Page Strength [info] which
