Follow along as I detail my journey losing 23 pounds in 13 months.
Or lack there of. I am up a couple of pounds this month and up for the year. And I know exactly why. Halloween. Kids brought candy home and I ate it. Ever since, I haven’t done anything special to get rid of those few pounds and as a result I am still carrying them around like they are [...]
Not sure if this weekend’s activities resulted in weight loss, but I did put in the effort. Friday night was 10,000 meters on the ergometer in 43:20. Saturday was another 10,000 meters in 42:58. Sunday was 1:07 run through the Boise foothills on Corral’s to Bob’s trail. And by Sunday afternoon, my stomach was hurting from [...]
New record for the earliest measurable snow fall. The previous record was set in 1969 for October 12th. Because it is so early, the trees have not yet lost their leaves. The result - “snapping trees”. Lots of trees here snapped under the weight of the wet snow on the branches. Now you will understand why I [...]
And not making any real progress. Froze my a** off on a bike ride last night up and down 3 Bears trail in the Boise foothills. Not sure why it is called 3 Bears when it has 4 hills on the trail that you need to ride up. Any, that 170 lbs mark needs to get broken [...]
I don’t know why it is, but when I run in the dark like I did last night, I feel like I am going faster then I would otherwise. No, I am not running scared.
That’s what my wife told. It might have to do with the fact that I ran last night, ran this morning and went to the YMCA tonight. Granted, I didn’t go the distance. Last night’s run was for 30 minutes, this morning was 25 minutes, and the ergometer row at the Y was ony 10 minutes with [...]
The weather “broke” a little - saw the sun in the afternoon. That’s when I got myself out of the house for a hour run in the foothills with the dog. Tried to use the heart monitor, but no luck as the stupid thing doesn’t seem to hold a charge anymore.
Yesterday’s exercise occurred during a break in the rain storms we had in Boise. Went to the foothills and ran on the Corral’s trail for about 40 minutes with the dog. Normally, I would stay far away from the foothills when it rains, but didn’t have much choice since the dog also needed exercise. Choose Corrals [...]
Still going. Ran for 30 minutes yesterday down to the Boise High School track and back. Took the dog and my youngest son. We didn’t really run the whole time since my son likes to talk when we have what we call QT = quality time. When it is just he and I with nothing to interupt.
Up Shane’s and one and a quarter of the Three Bear’s trail in the Boise foothills. This makes two days in a row for October that I have exercised. In case you didn’t notice, I’m planning on exercising every single day of the month. Need to knock off a bunch of pounds before the end of [...]
Usually at the beginning of the new year is when I do a 30 day challenge to exercise every day. I did that this year in January and I am doing it again now. Yesterday I ran for 30 minutes in the Boise foothills with the dog. And tonight I am planning on a bike ride [...]
Last month’s 30 day goal was to drink 4 liters of water a day. About three quarters of the time I did just that. The other quarter I drank 3 liters+. This month’s goal is one that I have done before and I know it works for losing weight - 30 days of exercising. My experience has been [...]
