Child Safety Is Often Overlooked In Self Defense

Self Defense is not only about yourself, and it does not always concern fighting. I keep getting all of these e-mails and I have been reading news snippets lately of children and how to keep them safe in the home. Well, my first thought is duh, watch them at all times!! But, even though I do not have kids I know that this is impossible to do. Child safety is often overlooked, and lets face it, some parents just are not aware as much as they probably should be. Heck, I can hardly watch my own self half of the time and I am always with me. Now, obviously there are so many ways a child can get hurt. I heard a news teaser the other day that said that one dangerous item in your house is your entertainment center that holds your television. Now, think about it. A child is just learning how to walk and anything bigger than them is going to immediately grab their attention. The child then walks up to the entertainment center, reaches up and pulls him or herself up and then the tv, or worse, the entire entertainment center falls over on top of them. This can not end positively. Now, the only way to safe proof that from happening is to just keep an eye out. However, there are smaller ways that you can prevent accidents from happening. A child's safety should be your number one concern when inside, and outside, of your house. I will get to outside of your house issues next time though. There is a product out that is called the Kindergard Safety Kit that is perfect for those little problems at home. It is not pricey at all, and should be a necessity for your Child's Safety at home. The Kindergard Safety Kit contains 12 peices in all. There are 2 cabinet latches, 4 outlet plugs, a cabinet lock, a door knob guard, and 4 corner cushions all developed to provide your child with the basics that are often overlooked. While you can watch you child with the larger problems, the smaller problems are what is often not taken care of. Check out the bottom link for more information.

till next time,
