Lemon Fingers News
Queen's birthday honours list surprise
My first book just got published!
Despite the humorous title, this news is not funny even in the slightest. it's tragic and horrible and even though i know you don't want to hear that, and how easy it is to disregard this news is actually intensely relevant regardless of your country. There is a bill running in the U.S. congress right now centering around Orphaned Work. This bill means the end to free expression for the united states as a whole. regardless of what country you are in, this bill could seriously damage the economy and even the social atmosphere of your home town. if you live in dublin, or moscow you will be indirectly effected by this as the united states is the most heavily influential media power in the world. if this corporate media manages to take away your rights as an artist, and the rights of all the artists in it's own country and sell their art off as their own they can warp the public perspective with amazing power and speed. this has happened before. It was the WHOLE reason why copyrights ever existed in the first place. this activity literally incited the thing that you now know as the (c) symbol. with this bill it will destroy what that symbol means forever. please, read this article... it could mean the entirety of your career and life as a poet/artist of any kind.
We've been busy again, this time extending the range of additional contact information you can add to your Folio pages. Lemon Fingers can now manage links to YouTube, Xanga, Twitter, and Last.fm amongst many others.
Lemonfingers Exclusive! Author Cameron R. Maughan, also known as noose tapping avatar, or Dankpoet by his commradriates at Lemonfingers.com, has unveiled his next publication to be released sometime in 2008.
We need your help in finding feature-worthy submissions.
It's been a while in coming, but we've put together something that we hope you'll find useful: Staff Featured Pieces. Also, a "Mission Statement" to show what we're all about.
This is the first major overhaul of several areas of the site including big changes to Collections and Bookshelf: comments display faster, image caching vastly improved, Collection favourites, Collection ratings, Collection thumbnails, Collection thumbnail links, Collections listed in the Bookshelf, and an improved system for unattended message updates..
Yes, we've been changing things again, improving performance in some areas and adding features in others: Notes Per Page Setting, Comment Levels for Pieces and Collections, Notification Options for Notebook, Piece, and Collection Updates, and better image caching.
Hello folks; we've been updating things again: themes; submitting news; faster comment display; a warning on replying to yourself; quick-links to polls; Lemon Fingers Seal of Approval; and a "Me" button that highlights to show when new messages come in.
Announcing the arrival of the first stage in Lemon Fingers' plan to internationalise the site; you can now add foreign language translations for any of your pieces, saving you from having to upload multiple copies of the same piece.
Congratulations to freerangepenguin, you've won the Haiku Mug 2006 competition. The votes are in, and the results are available in the Poll page for all to see.
Just a friendly reminder to let everyone know that the Lemon Fingers Forums are up and running and have been for a while now. So if there's a question you'd like answered you might try checking there, or the F.A.Q.
This is to announce the closure of the entry period for 15, and the beginning of the judging. The last entry accepted for this competition is 505609 by cky, and any items submitted to the 39 category after that piece will be disqualified from the competition.
This contest is open to all members, (except staff, as we will be judging). Ok... here's what I want you to do... write me a Haiku poem, with a lemon or Lemon Fingers theme.
Lemon Fingers is now very proud to present the grand opening of the Official Lemon Fingers Shop. All sorts of goodies are on sale right now, and more to come in the next few months.
It's been a while since we collected our first members, and since the last news update, so here's what's been happening.
Whatever your denomination, and whatever it is you're up to this Christmas, the Lemon Fingers Team want to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
All these new features, and the addition of new ones all the time mean that working out how to get your Lemon Fingers tasks done isn't always easy. We want to create a complete set of Frequently Asked Questions documents that will help members of the Lemon Fingers community to settle in. Only problem is, people aren't doing enough asking.
It's been a busy few days here at Lemon Fingers, the addition of even just a few helpful accounts turned up a set of unforeseen issues which I am pleased to say have been addressed. New and improved features include: Bookshelf List View, Collection Copyright, Table of Contents Issue, Favourites, Notes - Next and Previous Pages, Multiple Re.: in Note Subject, Send Note from Folio Page, Send Note Link, Colour Values, Piece Copyright, Piece Last Updated, Time Zones, and Recent and Unfiled Pieces Limits.
A gentle reminder, by signing up you agree to make sure you put your Pieces in appropriate categories for easy browsing. New features this week: Avatar Links, Show/Hide Signatures, and the Happy Birthday panel.
It's been a long haul, but I've done it. Over five thousand lines of ASP code converted line by line to PHP, and a much more stable website and database system because of it.
The ./news.phpNews system is now complete, including a page for viewing back issues, and News Comments. Also: Category Links.
Hard work is good for you, so we've been very good in putting together the following new and enhanced features: List View, Bookshelf Settings (Persistence), Collection Comments.
